Cheers to yet another minor release! In this post, we're excited to spotlight a few noteworthy changes.
Admin Booking Overrides
For SIM operators with a standard hour minimum, which applies to many of our operators, admins now have the flexibility to override this setting and establish 30-minute reservations when needed.
In this example, Birrdi SIM currently enforces a minimum reservation of 1 hour. However, admins now possess the capability to override this restriction and set reservations for as short as 30 minutes.
Strategic Checkout Updates
We've strategically reorganized the sequence of questions, policies, and promo code inputs to precede the credit card information on checkout. Recognizing that some users were encountering difficulty in realizing the need to scroll down for policy agreement, we've elevated these elements to a more prominent position to address this issue proactively. This adjustment is designed to enhance the overall checkout experience, reducing potential confusion for users.
In the new layout, the policies, questions, and promo code input have been strategically positioned above the fold, with the payment request now serving as a focal point and anchor for the entire page.
Lock Icons Removed
In version 4.8.0, we have deliberately removed the lock icons. These icons were remnants from earlier versions and no longer serve as an appropriate metaphor for the current user interface. If you notice the absence of lock icons, there's no need for concern—it's a deliberate and intentional update.
Patching Gift Cards & Refunds
In this release, we've implemented a patch to address a bug related to refunds and gift cards. Previously, when users utilized their gift card on Birrdi, reducing the total to $0, the corresponding refund failed to add the balance back to the gift card. The good new is we've successfully identified and resolved this issue. Gift cards and refunds should now function as expected.
Support for Remote Lock Hardwired Devices
Some of our operators rely on specialized hardwired devices as their locks. Although Birrdi may not initially support every type of lock that remote lock supports, we've implemented an upgrade to ensure compatibility with these hardwired locks. This enhancement enables operators to integrate these devices into our system. We're enthusiastic about the ongoing expansion of our partnership with Remote Lock.
Closing Thoughts
The process of creating value from scratch is not only enjoyable but also carries significant responsibility. We deeply appreciate and acknowledge the trust placed in us by our operators. Upholding this responsibility is not just a duty; it is a profound privilege. Thank you to our operators for entrusting us with this important role.
Cheers,
Michael
